The Japlar on-board charger was used on American Sportworks 48V units until September of 2010, when it was replaced with a Delta Q brand sealed charger. The Japlar brand charger is not a sealed charger and is susceptible to water damage if it has excessive direct exposure to water. Water damage most commonly occurs during either washing of the unit, or in the battery filling operation.
